Three Ohio Wesleyan University field hockey players were named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference teams, it was announced today.
Senior midfielder Alyse Marotta (Dublin/Jerome) and sophomore defender Jenna Ortega (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West) were first-team All-NCAC selections, and senior attacker Macie Miller (Kettering/Fairmont) was a second-team pick.
Marotta contributed 2 goals and an assist to the Ohio Wesleyan offense, and led the Battling Bishops with 3 defensive saves this season, the latter figure tying for fifth place in the NCAC. She was named NCAC Newcomer of the Year and was a first-team all-conference pick in 2008, and was a second-team all-conference choice in 2010.
Ortega led an Ohio Wesleyan defense that ranked fourth in the NCAC in fewest goals allowed (35). She was a second-team all-conference pick in 2010.
Miller led the Bishops in scoring with 6 goals and an assist this season.
Ohio Wesleyan finished the season with a 6-12 record. The Battling Bishops finished with a 4-10 record in NCAC competition, tying for sixth place in the final league standings.
