Ohio Wesleyan 85, Muskingum 56, Kenyon 14

Sophomore Sarah Bechtel (Bellefontaine) and junior Emily Amburgey (Germantown/Preble Shawnee) won 2 events apiece to lead Ohio Wesleyan to the team title at the OWU Triangular on Saturday at Gordon Field House.

Ohio Wesleyan won the meet with 85 points to 56 for Muskingum and 14 for Kenyon.

Bechtel won the 60-meter hurdles in :09.98 and took the pole vault by clearing 10-11¾.  She also added a fourth-place finish in the long jump.

Amburgey won the long jump with a leap of 16-3 and took the high jump by clearing 5-1¾.

First-place finishes also went to sophomore Holly Fouch (Hillsboro), who won the 60-meter dash in :08.52 and added a second in the 200-meter dash; senior Hannah Phlipot (Van Wert), who won the shot put with a throw of 37-7¼ and finished third in the weight throw; freshman Alex Tavenier (Elizabeth City, N.C./Northeastern), who won the 3000-meter run in 12:24.64; freshman Katie Reid (Marion/Harding), who won the 400-meter dash in 1:03.66; and junior Hannah Benzing (Findlay/Liberty Benton), who won the weight throw with an effort of 48-½.

The Bishop 800-meter relay team of Fouch, sophomore Katelyn Nance (London), junior Clare Duffy (Concord/Painesville Riverside), and Reid won its event in 1:53.77, while the distance medley relay team of junior Madeleine Wright (Hermitage, Tenn./Hume Fogg Academic), junior Emily Johnson (Johnstown/Johnstown-Monroe), Reid, and Tavenier broke the tape in 14:42.96.

Also scoring for the Bishops were Nance, who placed second in the 400-meter dash and fourth in the 200-meter dash; freshman Katie Shamblin (Grafton/Steele), who was second in the 60-meter dash; sophomore Emily Sattler (Marysville), who finished second in the 800-meter run; sophomore Brittany Shelhorn (Mount Vernon), who was second in the high jump; junior Nicole Lourette (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon), who finished second in the triple jump; sophomore Antoinette Jolliff (Cardington/Cardington-Lincoln), who placed third in the 60-meter hurdles and the pole vault; freshman Hannah Sampson (Kent/Roosevelt), who was third in the mile run; freshman Joyce Petersen (Avon/St. Joseph Academy), who was third in the high jump; Duffy, who placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles and the triple jump; and senior Emma Lisull (Ann Arbor, Mich./Greenhills), who was fourth in the mile run.
