Senior midfielder Jessie Huschart (Columbus/Hilliard Davidson) scored in the second overtime to lift Ohio Wesleyan over Denison in North Coast Athletic Conference action on Tuesday at Roy Rike Field.

The win kept Ohio Wesleyan's NCAC tournament hopes alive.  Kenyon defeated Hiram, 1-0, and Wittenberg defeated DePauw, 2-1, on Tuesday, resulting in a 3-way tie for fourth place between Denison, DePauw, and Kenyon at 3-3-1, with Ohio Wesleyan right behind at 3-4.  The top 4 teams in the standings will advance to next week's NCAC tournament.

Denison nearly won the game in the 104th minute when Keara Kilbane sent a pass to Lauren Jay right in front of the Bishop goal, but Jay's redirect attempt did not elude junior goalkeeper Hannah Zacharias (Marysville).

Ohio Wesleyan countered, and Huschart hit a 25-yard shot that looped over Big Red keeper Andrea Karl and into the net just 14 seconds later, ending the contest.

The Big Red came close to taking the lead during the first half when Jocelyn Festle's shot after a corner kick appeared to be bound for the back of the net, but senior defender Devon Bradley (Versailles, Ky./Sayre School), guarding the right post, cleared the ball out of danger.

The Bishops had a chance in the final minute of the period, but Karl made the save on Huschart's drive.

Ohio Wesleyan had another look in the final minute of regulation time, earning a restart about 30 yards away from the Big Red goal, but Karl tracked down a hard shot by sophomore defender Sarah Stachowiak (Westlake).

Zacharias and Stachowiak made crucial plays to keep the game going in the first extra session.  First it was Zacharias, making the save after a through ball gave Denison's Andrea Witte an open look.

In the final seconds of the period, Denison's Sara Livingston charged the Bishop goal on a breakaway.  Zacharias came out to challenge the play, but Livingston dribbled past her and fired at the open goal, only to see Stachowiak block the shot to keep the game going.

Denison outshot Ohio Wesleyan, 16-11.  Zacharias finished with 6 saves in the Bishop goal, while Karl collected 4 saves for Denison.
