Allegheny 5, Ohio Wesleyan 1

Senior Becky Simon (Hilliard/Darby) and freshman Whitney Lonnemann (Cincinnati/Mariemont) recorded Ohio Wesleyan's only win in a North Coast Athletic Conference tournament consolation semifinal matchup against Allegheny on Friday in Gambier.  The match was played to decision.

Ohio Wesleyan will face Wooster in the tournament's seventh-place match at 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Simon and Lonnemann teamed up for a win at No. 3 doubles, defeating Kathleen McBride and Laura Steele by a score of 8-6.

Sophomore Jordan Leslie (Bristol, Wis./Westosha Central) and freshman Alex Webb (Tipp City/Tippecanoe) lost to Carolyn Shetter and Deborah Landau at No. 1 doubles by an 8-3 score, while senior Emily Kiourtsis (Pickerington/North) and senior Mackenzie Conway (Marion/Pleasant) fell to Elyse Schmitt and Janna Dickerson at No. 2 doubles by an 8-5 margin.

In singles play, Leslie lost to Shetter by scores of 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Kiourtsis lost to Landua at No. 2 singles by scores of 6-4, 6-4, and freshman Lydia Tritschler (Granville) lost to Dickerson at No. 3 singles by scores of 6-3, 7-5.
