at NCAA Division III championships
Senior Emily Amburgey (Germantown/Preble Shawnee), junior Sara Bechtel (Bellefontaine), senior Hannah Benzing (Findlay/Liberty Benton), and sophomore Katie Reid (Marion/Harding) will represent Ohio Wesleyan at the NCAA Division III championship meet to be held May 23-25 at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse in LaCrosse, Wis.
Amburgey is seeded 17th in the high jump with a height of 5-6. She finished third in the event at the North Coast Athletic Conference championship meet, helping the Bishops win the team title. Amburgey won All-America honors in the indoor high jump in March, tying for sixth place by clearing 5-5.
Bechtel is seeded 17th in the pole vault, clearing 12-1½. She won the NCAC championship in the event, clearing 11-5¾.
Benzing is seeded 16th in the discus and 18th in the hammer with respective throws of 142-7 and 167-5. Benzing won both events at the NCAC championship meet.
Reid is seeded 22nd in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:12.94. She won the NCAC championship in the event in an NCAC-record 2:14.78 and was named NCAC Middle Distance/Distance Performer of the Year at the conference championship meet.
