T19th of 79 at NCAA Division III championships

Senior Ethan Freet (London) won All-America honors in the 400-meter hurdles and helped a relay team take All-America laurels during the third and final day of the NCAA Division III championship meet, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse on Saturday in LaCrosse, Wis.

Freet finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in a time of :52.08, earning his third consecutive All-America citation in the event.  He was seeded 10th in the event with a time of :52.45.  The All-America recognition was Freet's fourth individual All-America honor, and his seventh overall All-America citation, including 3 as a member of relay teams, tying Keith Rucker as the most decorated track & field performer in Ohio Wesleyan history.

Freet also anchored the 1600-meter relay team, combining with senior Silas Jolliff (Cardington/Cardington-Lincoln), freshman Adam Turner (Clyde), and senior Matt Martin (New Brighton, Pa./Riverside) to finish third in a time of 3:10.40, breaking the school record of 3:11.83.  The Bishop quartet was seeded seventh with a time of 3:13.09.

The third- and fourth-place finishes gave the Bishops 11 points in the team standings, good for a 19th-place tie among the 79 teams that scored in the meet.
