Ohio Wesleyan University senior Kevin Herman (Stow/Stow-Munroe Falls) was named to the Capital One Academic All-America® football teams, it was announced today.
Herman was a second-team Academic All-America® selection. He is Ohio Wesleyan's first Academic All-America® selection in football since 1996.
Herman led the Bishops and ranked sixth in the North Coast Athletic Conference in rushing with 677 yards (67.7 yards/game), the fourth straight season he was Ohio Wesleyan's top rusher, and was tied for second in the league in rushing touchdowns (10). He also led the NCAC punt return average (8.1) and ranked second in punt returns (20), second in punt return yards (163), is tied for seventh in scoring (6.6 points/game), and ranks ninth in the NCAC in all-purpose yards (95.7/game). Herman was a second-team All-NCAC selection in 2014 and an honorable mention All-NCAC choice in 2012 and 2013. Herman majors in economics management.
The Capital One Academic All-America® teams are selected by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. To be considered for the teams, one must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 or better and be a starter or important reserve.
